TCM looks at the whole person and their history with a wide range of diagnostic tools to try and find the root of their symptoms and provide appropriate treatments to their diagnosis.
Diagnosis and Treatment Method
TCM Diagnostics are based on symptom observation. The practitioner uses TCM therapies (acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, and dietary advice) to rebalance Yin and Yang by restoring the natural flow of qi. Traditional Chinese medicine also customizes therapy to harmonize emotions, the essence, and the spirit.
Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST)
is sometimes also referred to as craniosacral therapy. It’s a type of bodywork that relieves compression in the bones of the head and neck.
CST is a non-invasive hands on modality which uses gentle pressure applied on the head, neck, and back to relieve the stress and pain caused by compression. It can, as a result, help to treat a number of conditions and balance emotions. CST is extremely gentle and relaxing.
It’s thought that through the gentle manipulation of the bones in the skull, spine, and pelvis, the flow of cerebrospinal fluid in the central nervous system can be normalized. This removes energetic blockages from the normal flow, which enhances the body’s ability to heal.
Many massage therapists, acupuncturists, physical therapists, osteopaths, and chiropractors are able to train in and perform Cranial Sacral Therapy. It can be part of an already-scheduled treatment visit or the sole purpose for your appointment. CST is very helpful for pediatric patients and babies also respond to this gentle manipulation.
